Cedar filled dog beds

cedar filled dog beds

We and our dog love cedar filled dog beds as cedar helps to repel fleas and keeps the dog bed and our room smelling fresh.

Cedar bedding versus pine bedding

Cedar filling makes a big difference! Cedar repels moths and fleas and repelling fleas is always a plus.

I do love the smell of cedar. We have a large dog and although our website is called air filled dog beds, we use a cedar filling dog bed which fills the whole dog room with cedar smell!

If you go and buy a new dog bed, consider buying a cedar dog bed for the same advantages as mentioned above.

These dog beds with cedar also have the natural cedar aroma that reduces pet odors. Your cedar dog bed makes a good indoor and outdoor dog bed. Make sure to ask your salesperson whether the cedar dog bed is washable!

Know that there are also orthopedic cedar dog beds on sale to give dogs with chronic pain a comfortable and supportive rest. These dog beds have normally a thick convoluted foam insert in addition to the cedar liner.

If you don’t want fleas and enjoy a house smelling like cedar, do buy cedar filled dog beds or when buying a complete new bed, do consider buy a dog bed entirely made in cedar.

dachshund rescue Georgia

Please help out with this dachshund rescue in Georgia.

The above dog to rescue is called Rosie. She went missing on 11/22/2008 from Bald Eagle Road in the Bold Springs Area of Franklin County, Georgia.

This red miniature dachshund belongs to Gina Marie Lunsford, and when you think you have seen her beautiful miniature dachshund, give here a call on the number you can find here.

Hopefully Rosie is in the hands of people who love to adopt a dog or adopt a puppy. For the latter we repeat that dachshunds are a small breed and Rosie is a short haired miniature dachshund, full blooded, spayed female weighing about 9 pounds.

This cute dog has some extensive scars on her left side and back from stitches last summer and the fur hasn’t yet grown back.

When Gina Marie’s red miniature dachshund disappeared, she was only wearing a flea collar. The sad news is that this dog doesn’t have a microchip. Lost pets are so much easier to be returned when they are microchipped!

According to Gina Marie, her dog is very friendly and likes to ride in cars. But even if you see a dog that fits Rosie’s description but not acting very friendly, you need to know that dachshunds are always a bit aggressive to total strangers at first.

Gina Marie thinks her dog has been taken by some by-passer who by mistake would have thought the dog is a stray. Logically this by-passer would have carried the dog to the nearest dog rescue or any of the other pet adoption centers.

So if you have adopted a dachshund from any rescue in Georgia lately: have a look if she is having scars.

When yes and it’s a red miniature dachshund looking like the dog in the picture above: please contact Gina Marie, who would be happy to give you a reward!

You can also give your dog a body scrub using a mixture from baby powder and baking soda. Leave it in for a few minutes and brush it out entirely.

How to give a dog a wet bath

If your dog like my border collie doesn’t want to sit still, let alone sit still waiting for a body bath – or you need to apply a dog flea shampoo or any other medicated dog shampoo – then put some dog shampoo in a spray bottle and use the garden hose to play with your dog.

Suddenly your dog will love to get wet and it’s not too difficult to spray the dog shampoo with the spray bottle on your dog and then give him "an amazingly good rub" reward 🙂

Rinse the dog shampoo from your dog through further playing with the garden hose.

Please leave a message and share your dog’s favourite home made dog shampoo!

Clever dog names

picture of cerberus 3 headed dogLooking for clever dog names to add extra meaning to your dog? Clever dog names aim to what you want your dog should grow up to. For example:

Do you have an watchdog like a bull dog, a Rotweiler or a pitbull? Then a great name for these kind of K9s with this job would be Cerberus (Latin) or less refined and more angry (angry for burglers and the kind of course, if you watch Cesar Milan – The Dog Whisperer – , you know that a good packleader-owner will have friendly dogs in their family) still : Kerberos (Greek name)!

In Greek mythology: Kerberos was the 3 headed watch dog of hell: no living creature could pass this watchdog, or if you put it differently: the only way to get passed this dog was to die for it…

A great , clever and fierce watch dog name, don’t you feel safe already just telling your friends your dogs’ name is Kerberos?

Natural pet food

natural dog food

Yorkshire terrier Pebbles is treated for kidney failure
after eating dog food that was later recalled.
The 7-year-old dog has died already…

The reason why natural pet food is so important for your dog is illustrated by Pebbles: the above cute Yorkshire terrier killed by eating… pet food from the pet shop!

Pebbles became ill with kidney failure after being fed Nutro pet food : a Menu Foods manufactured product. The toxin aminopterin, used to kill rats, was found in the wet pet food. Nobody knows how the poison got there.

So before you go to the shop thinking you will be safe buying healthy pet food, think again! better make your own dog treats if your health of your dog is as important as your own health. After all: do you eat every day food out of a can???
